  1. Słuszne i przewrotne..
    zdecydowanie popielaty blond..
    nie uważam tego za błąd..
    włosy są tego warte..
jak i kobieta która je nosi..:-)

    po-zdrawiam Sebastian.

I try to translate into German:

    Aschermittwoch
    ich färbe mein Haar
    aschblond

I like this haiku because there is no religious force in it. Your theme is beauty at a religious celebration. Ok!

To repeat "ash" is a fine application of a stilistic tool.

  4. Dear Rudi

thank you for your German translation, I am happy to have it together with your comment :)
The religious force is avoided purposely in this haiku as this seems to be too obvious on this occassion.

I wonder if we can replace "ich färbe" just not to give ready answer in L2:

    Aschermittwoch
    ich lege für meine Haare
    aschblond

I am not sure if it is acceptable, I was learning German ... once upon a time :)

    Best regards

  5. Hi Irena,

"legen" at the hairdresser means "curling", bringing into a form, but not dying. In the price list of a barber always is listed "Waschen und Legen" what means washing and bringing into a certain form.

German is a very difficult language - watching things very discriminatelay and closely. Even many Germans don't know about the many facets of some expressions.

Perhaps a solution (if you don't like "färbe") is:

    Aschermittwoch
    ich wähle für mein Haar
    Aschblond

(Here you must write "Aschblond", not "aschblond" because it's a noun, "das Aschblond deines Haars". Schwierig, nicht wahr?

To invade in a language is so fascinating

    Best wishes
    Rudi

  6. Dear Rudi

thank you very much for your clarification. Your haiku has been published :) I am happy to have your German version on my blog.
Even the German nouns are written according to your suggestion :) however I rather break rules ... in haiku :)
This is some kind of harmless fascination :)

    Best regards
