September Plaquette of Haiku 2022 

I was asked to write a few words in Polish and English on haiku,
and to translate from English to Polish some poems
written in different national languages.

Haiku comes from Japan, but it has conquered the whole world. The secret of this lies in the fact that haiku refers to nature and thanks to that is universal. Anyone can express themselves in this short poem. One just need to be concentrated, patient and mindful while observing the outside world and inner emotions. When one is ready, haiku will come by itself.

Haiku wywodzi się z Japonii, ale podbiło cały świat. Sekret tego tkwi w tym, że haiku nawiązuje do natury i dzięki temu jest uniwersalne. W tym krótkim wierszu każdy może wyrazić siebie. Wystarczy być skoncentrowanym, cierpliwym i uważnym obserwując świat zewnętrzny i swoje wewnętrzne emocje. Kiedy będziemy gotowi, haiku przyjdzie samo.
